Respiratory Care Week

October 20 through 26 is recognized as Respiratory Care Week. A time to honor and recognize the meaningful contributions of respiratory therapists. Respiratory therapists are essential members of the health care team. Specializing in treating patients with breathing disorders, from newborns in the NICU to seniors managing chronic conditions like COPD.
They work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and even in patients’ homes. With one goal in mind, providing critical care and education on lung health. Whether managing ventilators, administering oxygen therapy, or helping patients recover from respiratory infections, their expertise is invaluable.
Stacey at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital shares that she found her role as a respiratory therapist almost 17 years ago!
