Ronald is a surgical technician in the operating room at Frederick Health Hospital.
Surgical technician Ronald says his over-persistent aunt told him he should consider pursuing a career in health care. Now 24 years later, he is able to help people and take care of his family.
How did you get started as a surgical tech?
Ronald shares, “I’m a surgical technician down in the operating room [at Frederick Health Hospital]…I had an over-persistent aunt who saw I was graduating and decided that I needed to try health care, and sure enough, 24 years, here I am.”
What’s your favorite part of your day?
“Going home. Going home with a good feeling like you’ve helped some people and you’re able to take care of your family with work needs and have money to live on and be happy to go home.”
Do you have any advice for others?
“Advice I’d give is you better be flexible. Because there are situations that come up that you’ll need to adjust, give your best, give your all, and be willing to roll with what comes through the door. Most of the time it ends really well. So yeah, be flexible.”
