Radiologic Technologist Fast Facts
There are various levels of radiology careers, which offers a wealth of growth opportunities.
What’s a radiologic technician/technologist and what do they do?
- Position patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.
- Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
- Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
- Monitor patients’ conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician.
- Review and evaluate developed x-rays, video tape, or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.

How has your experience been with radiology, and do you have any advice?
“It is important that you choose the right field before it’s too late. As a medical immune student for the past two years, I went through intense clinical experience hours. My advice that I’ll give people trying to join health is never give up.”
