Kysha, a senior medical assistant from MedStar Health shares her experience working as a medical assistant and what she likes most about her team.

What do you like most about being a medical assistant?

Kysha says, “One of the things I like about being a medical assistant is that we are the ones who set the tone for the patient when they come into the office. Our facial expression, what we say, our tone of voice while we’re triaging the patient can make all the difference for a patient to feel safe in a health care environment.”

What’s it like working at MedStar Health and in a Maryland hospital?

“What I like about working at MedStar Health is the promotion of teamwork and the constant pursuit that we are all on one accord. How we treat our patients and help manage their care can be a contributing factor for patients to keep their health care a priority. Keeping that in mind.
