In her twenty years of nursing experience, the most memorable experience for Hanna, senior clinical nurse (SCRN) at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, was when a patient thanked her for her exceptional care and positive impact.
As a nurse, what’s the most memorable experience you’ve had so far?
“A memory in my 20 years of nursing experience that stands out is when I worked in the oncology unit of the hospital. And I had a patient who would come in every five weeks for five days of chemotherapy.
Five years later, I saw him and his wife at the local mall, and he remembered me and thanked me again for the care that I provided. He called the nurses at the hospital his “Team of Angels,” and that interaction alone validated the choice I made to choose nursing as my profession.
