How did you start your education journey?
“I went to college after high school, I went to Wor-Wic Community College, I became an LPN and RN on the medical surgical unit, and I most recently graduated with my master’s degree as a nurse practitioner, so I will be practicing as a family nurse practitioner for AGH, which I’m very excited about.
I’ve had a huge journey there. They boosted my entire college career and I was the recipient of the Wor-Wic’s scholarship through the hospital and did tuition reimbursement countless times so they were definitely there for the education run and the long haul.”
What does your current role look like?
“I’ve been growing in my current role. I have been floating around the hospital working in various departments. Recently, I have been doing the patient care supervisor role – as well as filling in as a charge nurse on the medical surgical floor, and have also been filling in as the clinical coordinator at the cancer center.
They have pushed me to go back to school numerous times and that’s why I am going to be pursuing my next adventure in my career as a nurse practitioner with AGH as well.
What do you love most about working at AGH?
“I think I love the people the most. The people you work with definitely help make your day better or make you feel better about what’s happening in your current workflow. They are team players and they just want you to succeed and your leadership, their goal is for you to succeed in your everyday job tasks, and most often your education as well.”
