Ashley is a forensic nurse at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) SAFE Program.
“As a forensic nurse, I have the opportunity to care for victims of crimes such as sexual assault, child abuse, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking,” says Ashley.
What does your typical day look like?
I conduct medical forensic exams in which I provide medical care while also collecting potential forensic evidence and documenting injury.”
Ashley’s work is both challenging and rewarding. Every day, she uses her medical expertise and empathy to help individuals in the most traumatic moments of their lives.
What’s the most rewarding part of your career?
“I get to make a difference in the lives of my patients every single day. I feel very lucky to have chosen nursing as my career and I’m sure you will, too.”
